Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as a public speechwriter. Sarkeesian who has an MA in the field of Social and Political Thinking in the field of social and political thought from York University, is a well-known public speakers. She has given speeches at TEDxWomen XOXO festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group for Gender. She has been interested in feminist issues, gender and gender equality at a early stage of her life. In 2009, while continuing to study at the university level, she created the Feminist Frequency website. She had a plan to launch an internet series that examined gender representation in games, but was the target of a harassment campaign online. It was not enough to stop her. In fact, it made her more committed to be a feminist as well as media critique. Many awards have been presented to her in recognition of all the contributions that she contributed to.
